Looking for ways to explore the area before and after celebrating with us? There's a lot to explore. We've collected a few local suggestions to get you started!

  • - Iron Horse Regional Trail: A paved trail perfect for a relaxing walk, jog, or to rent bikes to explore.

    - San Ramon Farmers Market: Held in the parking lot of Bishop Ranch every Saturday, find seasonal produce, baked goods, and foods. We recommend going early as the lines can get pretty long! We love to go here and love the baked goods at Starter Bakery, and the pork and chive dumplings from Papa’s Dumplings.

    - Bishop Ranch City Center: An indoor/outdoor mall, perfect for any last minute things you may need to buy (pharmacy, retail, etc.) as well as many restaurants.

  • - Lindsay Wildlife Museum: A beloved wildlife rescue and education center where you can see native animals up close and learn about local ecology. Very kid-friendly. (20 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Chabot Space & Science Center: Immersive planetarium shows, giant public telescopes, and interactive space exhibits. Great for both kids and adults. (40 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Lawrence Hall of Science: A relaxed, hands-on science center with beautiful Bay views. Ideal for families and visitors who enjoy interactive learning. (45 min. drive from hotels.)

  • - Tilden Park Steam Trains: A charming miniature railroad through redwoods and ridge views, great for adults and kids alike. (40 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Redwood Regional Park: A forest of redwoods with easy-to-moderate trails; Canyon Meadow or Skyline Gate staging area recommended, though lots of lovely options! (35 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Las Trampas Regional Wilderness: Beautiful oak-covered hills and ridge trails with some of the best views in the valley, great for hikers. ( 12 min. drive from hotels.)

  • - Downtown Walnut Creek: A lively outdoor shopping and dining district with boutiques, big brands, and patios / play areas for kids. (20 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Jack London Square: A waterfront area with restaurants, breweries, shops, and bay views (40 min. drive from hotels.)

    - Lafayette Wineries: Small, charming local wineries offering relaxed tastings in a beautiful hillside setting. (25 min. drive from hotels.)
